Magical towns in Quintana roo .. Know them and find your new home.

In 2001, the "Magic Town" nomination was created by SECTUR, to name the localities with symbolic attributes, legends and stories that captivate to have a "magical" experience. The objective of the program is to reassess the populations of the country that present different alternatives for national and international visitors.    In Quintana Roo there are three "Magic Towns", Tulum, Isla Mujeres and Bacalar. Get to know them!   TULUM: It was created as a municipality of Quintana Roo in 2009, and designated as Magic Town in 2015.   Its appeal lies in the combination of the exotic beauty of the jungle and pre-Hispanic cultures. Where wonderful archaeological sites emerge, with the Caribbean Sea as the main framework. It is the perfect place for ecotourism activities.   Its picturesque streets, friendly people, multicultural atmosphere and local crafts, give a warm welcome to its visitors.   The place is perfect for those who seek privacy and disconnect from today's world, with all the comfort and luxury if you wish. Offering cabins in the jungle, ecological lands for different purposes and unmatched theme hotels.   The must-see places:    - The Mayan ruins, The only archeological zone by the sea in Mexico.   - Dos Ojos, A cenote of crystal clear waters of incomparable beauty, swims in its refreshing waters.    - Paradise Beach, Its white sand and turquoise waters are the right place to relax.    - Sian Ka’an, Discover this ecological reserve, its species, flora and exotic fauna. ISLA MUJERES: Received the name of Magic Town in 2015. In a wonderful combination of recreational activities and history about the time of the conquest.   In pre-Hispanic times the island was dedicated to Ixchel, Maya Goddess who represents fertility, which received offerings with feminine forms that were found on the beaches. When the Spanish conquerors arrived and observed the figures, they named it Isla Mujeres.   Between Cancun and Isla Mujeres is located the Sub Aquatic Museum, with beautiful giant sculptures, where tourists can swim and enjoy the landscape of the convergence between natural and art, underwater.



The places you must visit:   - El Garrafón Marine Park, Ideal place to enjoy all kinds of water activities. You can also go hiking, paddle a kayak or jump into a zip line. The fun is guaranteed.    - Playa Norte, One of the best known places on the island, invites you to relax all day sunning yourself on its pristine white sand beaches. With spectacular sunsets that will leave you breathless.   - Walk in the village, Enjoy its varied cuisine, you will find endless options and very cozy restaurants, with very comfortable furniture, hammocks, lounge chairs, while enjoying your food right in front of the sea. BACALAR: Was the first of the 3 to be named "magical town" in Quintana Roo, its joined this program since 2006. Even before being a municipality, what happened until 2011.
